About College Park
College Park Preschool was founded in
1962 and is a ministry of Faith Presbyterian Church. It is a non-profit
organization supported entirely by tuition. The school is licensed by the
State of California Department of Social Services, and accredited by the
National Academy of Early Childhood Programs, a division of the National
Association for the Education of Young Children, the nation’s largest
organization of early childhood educators. Teachers and staff at College
Park are selected on the basis of their caring, compassionate way with
children and their professional training. The staff continues to improve
their knowledge of child development through classes, teacher workshops,
and regular classes in pediatric CPR and First Aid.

Our Purpose
The purpose of College Park Preschool is
to provide a Christian environment in which each child gains a positive
self-concept and develops to their full potential through a
"whole" child approach. Small class sizes and a specially
trained, highly qualified staff provides care that is responsive to each
child’s individual needs. Each child feels free to learn and explore, be
creative, develop skills, solve problems, and share with others.
A wide range of developmentally
appropriate activities and meaningful experiences are provided for the
children to learn more about themselves, their families, other cultures,
and their community, and how to live with, accept, and celebrate the
diversity and uniqueness of themselves and others.
A loving, positive atmosphere within a
small school "family" creates a sense of belonging.
Parent-teacher partnerships provide a strong basis for communication and a
support system for child, parent, and teacher
Our Daily Program
The daily program for Two's and
preschool classes include indoor and outdoor play utilizing a variety of
equipment to develop large and small motor control. A theme-based approach
incorporates all areas of the curriculum from circle times for music and
movement, literature and language arts, arithmetic and science, dramatic
activities, and stories and sharing. A wide range of experimentation with
various art media and creative materials are offered as well as a
nutritious snack. Other activities include cooking, computers,
woodworking, community speakers, and field trips. Special activities such
as Spaghetti Social, Imagination Parades, Santa's Workshop, Open House, Parent Luncheons, Dad’s Night, Mom’s Mornings, and
holiday activities are held throughout the year.
